You receive mails without any delay, but still do not see the envelope icon in your system tray and you are not notified whenever a new mail arrives.  Many times you might have faced issues with your outlook. Various are errors displayed. Lesser is the time to analyze and troubleshoot. But for sure, 99% of issues could be resolved in outlook yourself. Here is one common scenario. Follow the below steps.

  • Click on Tools >> Options

  • Click on Email Options. A dialog box appears as below

  • Click on Advanced Email Options button to get the below screen. Make sure the below options are checked especially that is marked within the rectangle shown.

  • Click on Desktop Alert Settings from the above dialog. Adjust the appearance settings as below or based on your preference and click OK.

  • Now you should get an envelope (Indicates new unread mail) in your system tray, also an envelope whenever a new mail arrives in.
