Follow the below steps to resolve this.

  • Click on Tools >> Options

  • Click on the Mail Setup tab

  • Check the option Send immediately when connected as below.

  • Click on Send/Receive button to get the below dialog box

  • Make sure the schedule to receive the emails automatically is activated as above. You could adjust as per your preference again.

  • Click on Edit button.

  • Check the Include the selected account in this group. For best performance, update the options as below.

  • Uncheck the RSS Feeds from the list. RSS Feeds are the simple mail updates from any sites that you have had subscribed / from Microsoft by default having the information of a product / services and anything as such.

  • It is better to uncheck this option because; it tries to connect to internet websites to download the contents. Though in a corporate network where the internet is blocked, it still keeps trying to connect. Hence the performance is less as the amount spent on searching these feeds take very long time. Finally, it fails to download as the internet is inactive.

  • Click on OK to all.

  • You should receive the mail in subsequent intervals based on the time that you have set in the send /receive groups dialog.
